Origin: Estate of Barberino Val d'Elsa in the Chianti Classico area
Soil: Hilly, stony clay
Vines: Sangiovese 90%, Merlot 7%, Cabernet Sauvignon 3%
Harvest: Normally around the 1st decade of October, with selection by hand of the best bunches of grape
Vinification: At the temperature of 28/30° C followed by maceration with the skins for 20 days
Ageing: About 5 months in small French wood barrels followed by stainless steel vats
Bottling: Month of March in the 3rd year after the harvest
Refining: 6 months in bottle
Colour: Deep ruby red with garnet hues
Bouquet: Intense, reminiscent of ripe cherries and violets
Taste: Full bodied, delicate, long lasting
